DIDO - NO ANGEL

This album was released from the talented Dido in 1999 and has done so well, it's still in the charts 2 years later! I just had to go out and buy it, consisting of some great tracks, a few of which have been great chart releases for the soloist. I have only recently bought the album after hearing such good things about it over the media, friends and on the world wide web too!

TrAcK 1 ~ Here With Me

Dido's first single that she released as a soloist, Its a great track although it does make you feel a little down. It appeals to some but not to others. It is catchy and rythemic and personally I really like this song. 9/10.

TrAcK 2 ~ Hunter

This has also recently been released from Dido. It is a v.positive song which makes an impact on the album. It reminds you of being tied down by lovers though. 8/10.

TrAcK 3 ~ Don't Think Of Me

This song isn't so much the lyrics but a 'musical' track. It is an interesting song but isn't a great impact on the album. 7/10.

TrAcK 4 ~ My Lovers Gone

Back to Dido's strong vocals now, this song is pretty damm good! Although it is a very depressing, sad song, about a poor lover that has since died... 8/10.


TrAcK 5 ~ All You Want

This is Dido's latest release off the album. It is a catchy track. It is simple and v.relaxing to listen to. The verses are not complex and quietly sung, the chorus however becomes much more interesting and brings the song to life. 8/10.

TrAcK 6 ~ Thank You

This is the track that the famous rapper EMINEM used on his 'Stan' single. Dido went on to release her song as her own track and it is very popular, some people say that EMINEM made DIDO but after listening to this version you will know that this isn't true at all, this album also prooves how much talent she really does have. I like this track very much, it is soothing and cal
ming. 9/10.

TrAcK 7 ~ Honestly Ok

An in the middle song here, quite good but nothing amazingly speicial! Pure Dido style but not one of her best although I do rate this song quite highly. 8/10.

TrAcK 8 ~ Slide

This song is a bit more beaty than some of the others on the album. Although after a while the track does become a little boring. Still good though, just doesen't seem as good as some other tracks on this album. 7/10.

TrAcK 9 ~ Isobel

This track tells a story, it's also quite upbeat, I personally like this song, it's a little different but I like it very much, this is a personal fave off the album but am not sure how many others agree with me!? You might find this track a little sad though. 8/10.

TrAcK 10 ~ I'm No Angel

Where do you think the album title came from, well it had to come from somewhere!? You may find this track gets stuck in your head a little but still a pretty good track to listen to. 8/10.

TrAcK 11 ~ My Life

Not one of Dido's best but still a relatively good track but then all albums have a few week tracks don't they!? 6/10.

TrAcK 12~ Take My Hand

This is infact a BONUS TRACK to Dido's album and is a great BONUS at that! I like this track a lot, it focuses well on Dido's vocie. 8/10.

Overall I feel that this album has as much to offer as people say it has, it shows great talent, skill and courage. It is great to listen to, relaxing, upbeat, catchy and rythemic, everything you want for a quiet night in with a CD, or maybe even a little quiet party bash (If you can have 'quiet party bashes!!!) No seriously, if you've heard a few of Dido's releases and have liked them, you will like this album, so go on out to get it.
