Advantages: Completes the collection, some pretty good songs, brilliant price!

Disadvantages: Repetition of songs, not to everyones taste

This has to be my personal favourite Eva Cassidy album. Although this is not seen as an official Eva album due to some of the songs being the same but radio edits or slightly different tunes, it contains some of my favourite songs, including 'You Are' and 'I've got this feeling'.

ABOUT EVA:

Eva died in 1996 of melanoma and her continued success is allowing her to become more and more well known. She now has 3 number one albums – Songbird, Imagine and the most recent album American Tune. Still today many more people are continuing to buy these albums. A new book has been released telling her story of how she was not only a great musical artist but was great at art as well.

Eva was only 33 when she died but many people are still celebrating her and find it very hard to express how her music makes them feel. Whether you are happy, sad, actually feeling any emotion, Eva has the ability to make it sound as though she is singing to you and will bring tears to your eyes.

This album has a sense of folk music with a little more pop style to it. There are timeless classics in here such as 'Natural Woman' which some people may never hear if they decide not to buy this album because it is not official. The album is no longer for sale in stores such as Amazon so the only way to get one is to buy it online as a used item.

INFORMATION ABOUT EACH SONG:

Emotional Step is featured twice on this album, one as the full version and the second as a radio edit. Both songs are the same except the radio edit (Track 9) is a little shorter than this track. It was written by Tony Taylor. This song is about being in love with someone who has been hurt and you try to help them take the next step to falling in love again and trusting other people. The Waiting is Over can also be found on the album Method Actor. Written by David Christopher. This song provides a soft rock feeling to the album and it is about asking God about when you would find your love but there is no need to do this anymore since you have found him and are spending the rest of your life with him. When It’s Too Late is also found on the album Method Actor. Written by David Christopher. You should always remember the people close to you and tell them that you love them because they will not always be with you. You cant show them how much you need them when they are gone.

You Are is my favourite track on the album as it is very lively and will get you moving to the beat. Written by Tony Taylor. This song is about your childhood love that you have never forgotten and although so much time has passed, you still feel exactly the same for them. Continuing with my other fevourite track, I’ve got this Feeling. The first time I heard this song it sounded as though it could have been made in the seventies. This does not discourage me from listening to it, far from it – I love this track! Written by Tony Taylor its is a very romantic song about falling in love and everything is just perfect and you are going to be together for a long time.

Natural Woman is an old classic. This track also appears twice (track 10) on the album although the other track is slightly different to this one. Written by Gerry Goffin/Gerald Wexler/Carole King. It is about falling in love with someone and having been so tired with life before hand, this person makes your life worth living and a lot better. Little Children is a very real song and brings the reality back to people that there are children all over the world risking their lives and getting killed by taking drugs and stealing. Many females are very young when they have children and the children do not have fathers because they are in prison. This track also appears a second time but is also slightly different (track 11). Written by David Christopher. On the Inside provides a tragic romantic feeling to the album and is perfect for any emotion. Written by Tony Taylor. If someone tells you that they love you, you want to know that they mean it with all their heart. The person you love is also saying that he loves someone else, but he has to show that he loves you as words can just fade away.

I would highly recommend this album. It may contain a few songs that people may not like as much as others but there are classics on it which have to be heard. You really can't go wrong with the price - especially if it is still shrink wrapped but it does contain a few tracks from 'Eva's' first album, 'Method Actor' (this is actually the band name too).

ABOUT THE ALBUM:

This was Eva’s second album release in 2002. Some have been disappointed by this album, but as there are not many songs left to be released, it would be a shame to leave this album out of your collection. Method Actor is another recommendation although also seen as an illegitimate release by her parents.

As it is no longer being sold in shops, you can buy it for around 3.50GBP in Amazon marketplace as a used product. I managed to get mine from there and it was still shrink wrapped... it was a shame to open it but I just had to! The booklet contains a little about Eva's life and is extremely high quality. The photos contained are of Eva wearing a big jumper.

If you are an Eva fan and would like to see her perform, obviously this is impossible, but there is now a DVD - released November 1st 2004 - costing around 10 - 15 pounds. This features the Videos filmed at the Blues Alley session. There is also Eva's biography which is brilliant - even if you are not a fan.

Summary: Cheap, top quality, great songs, brilliant singer... can't go wrong!
