The loss of serial screecher Penney may cause the band to lose one of their unique selling points for the second album, but here he can be heard clearly. His voice makes the album identifiable immediately. The album is brilliant for dancing along to, and many of the songs are fun and produce smiles on faces. Crowned Review Not Accepted Anywhere - The Automatic: What's That Coming Over The Hill? (1008 words)

Rating:

The Automatic are a four piece band hailing from Cardiff in Wales. Forming in 2002, the band have come a long way in the past five years and enjoyed a large degree of success in 2006 when they released their début album 'Not Accepted Anywhere'. It was hard to miss this young Cardiff based band last summer; everywhere you went their infectious 'Monster' single seemed to be playing, and therefore you were made to listen to The Automatic regardless of whether you liked them or not. If you liked the popular 'Monster' single, then all I can say about the album is; there’s plenty more of that where that one came from, with the album jam packed full of catchy tracks where any ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

Not Accepted Anywhere is the debut album from Welsh four-piece The Automatic. Prior to their album they released three singles, all included on the album: Recover, Raoul and Monster. These three singles lay great foundations out for the rest of the album which is one that may take awhile to get into but then becomes one to listen to over and over. If you have not yet seen The Automatic live then i definitely recommend it. They are possibly the best live band i have seen and they send the crowd wild. With support from the biggest rock magazine, NME we can expect the Automatic to furthur their career. Track by track: 1. "That's What ...  Read the complete review

The debut album by welsh outfit The Automatic, Not Accepted Anywhere is a fun and lighthearted album with occasional heavy undertones and witty lyrics. Songs like "Raoul" and "Monster" catapulted the band into the public eye, whilst the potential for even bigger and better songs is visible in songs like "Recover" and "By My Side". The loss of serial screecher Penney may cause the band to lose one of their unique selling points for the second album, but here he can be heard clearly.
