The debut release from this American solo artist was met with a lot of critical acclaim when it was released, mainly down to the uniqueness of her voice on the first single 'I'm Outta Love' which was an instant hit around the world when it was released in the autumn of 2000, and became an anthem for many people who have been wronged by a person that they loved. For a debut album this isn`t half bad! This woman reminds me a little of Sheryl Crow to look at…admittedly from a distance and I do think that Anastacia is better looking and that`s from a womans point of view.. and what a tattoo to have!!! The album all 50:34mins of it is a varied musical journey with a real feel good factor. It is easy going and good stuff. I admire her voice and find her a little similar to Macy Gray (apparently she does a really good impression of her!), Gabrielle, at times and occasionally Whitney Houston..ish!! Anastacia ‘the Girl with the voice’ is a new girl on the scene with her debut album, Not That Kind. Anastacia has become a female artist due to her voice which sounds like to me a, a white person with a coloured persons voice. Some say it’s annoying but I think it’s a very different voice, which is what most produces are looking for and anyway she a big hit in the UK. Anastacia exploded into the world of pop with this album near the turn of the century. The good thing about her is she knows how to belt out some rip roaring tracks. Who is she: American singer and songwriter, very small lady with a big croaky voice. On this album: 'Im Outta Love' is a real diva-strop of a song, where she proclaims she has had enough of love and wants out of the game. It is a disco fulled number and one which will get you dancing. 'Not That Kind' is slightly slower, but retains the brassy lyrics and sees Anastacia telling love like it is.
