Not being a big fan of Rock Music, I was a bit concerned when my colleagues started playing this cd last week. However, my attention was soon captured when I began recognising some of the tracks being played! I was suddenly transported back to my secondary school days when I briefly dabbled with ?rock? and ?grunge? music! It was great to hear ...

The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King - Soundtrack

Premium Review The Best Soundtrack On Middle-Earth! (452 words)

should therefore be familiar with the several music themes that come with it. Right the way from the "Fellowship of the Ring" soundtrack, right through to this one, there are Various themes for specific events in the movies. Despite this, the albums are far from repetitive but instead give a feeling of identity and place to each aspect of the music. The final track on the soundtrack - "Into The West" - was performed by Annie Lennox and won an Oscar for "Best ...

Dark Side Of The 80s

Premium Review WHO IS A RIGHT MISERABLE SO AND SO THEN? (319 words)
by benlepensive - written on 02/03/09 (Very useful, 27 readings)
Rating:

Now with all the bright cheerful pop albums of the eighties doing the rounds, it is refreshing to see something so dark and sinuous on the market. This album gathers some of the more sinister and challenging songs from the eighties. It doesn't make for an easy listen but that is part of the appeal. Open your ears to some new sounds and push Wham to one side for a few minutes. Highlights: Robert Smith's unhinged vocals in 'Lullaby' is one of The Cure's finest moments. Not that accessible on the first listen. but a richly layered song which will reward on repeated playing. The Cult's 'She Sells Sanctuary' benefits from the all time greatest guitar riffs which ...
