Advantages: Good mix of songs
Disadvantages: Do we need two versions of 'Ain't No Sunshine'?
The soundtrack to Notting Hill consists of; Another Level - From the Heart 4:53 Ronan Keating - When You Say Nothing At All 4:14 Elvis Costello - She 3:07 Al Green - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart 6:25 Texas - In Our Lifetime 4:06 98 Degrees - I Do (Cherish You) 3:47 Pulp - Born To Cry 5:33 Lighthouse Family - Ain't No Sunshine 3:42 Shania Twain - You've Got A Way (Notting Hill Remix) 3:23 Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin 3:00 Trevor Jones - Will and Anna (Score) 3:37 Trevor Jones - Notting Hill (Score) 4:46 Bill Withers - Ain't No Sunshine (Bonus Track) 2:03 There are some wonderful tracks on this album - and although it's an easy album to listen too, it has something for everyone's taste. There are loads of songs for the romantic, including the classics How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, and Ain't No Sunshine, but the inclusion of In Our Lifetime, and Born To Cry give a slightly rockier feel to the soundtrack, and bring what could be a slightly old fashioned collection of songs up to date. Fans of the ever increasing 'boy bands' may be pleased by the contributions of 98 Degrees, and Another Level, both of whose songs are actually rather good, if overly sentimental. All in all, I would have to say that I love this soundtrack, and it has spent a good amount of time in my CD player, often for weeks at a time! An excellent compilation, well worth investigating, especially if like me, you watched and enjoyed the film.
