A great CD to have playing in your car

When I was a child I always used to purchase the Now albums as they collect the most popular songs from a few months between each release putting them all on two discs for us to listen too. I really cannot believe we are at now 82 but when I saw this in Asda I decided to pick it up as we had needed a new CD for the car. What I like about this CD is it really is a mix of different types of music. This means I can enjoy the CD, my children have favourite songs on this CD and even when my niece comes to stay this is the first CD that she reaches for to listen to in the car. It really does cover all tastes and age ranges meaning it is great for anyone to listen to. All though a lot of the songs are very upbeat there are different genres of music thrown in there. You have anything from a love ballad to full on rap music so it gives you a chance to listen to something new that you may not have heard before. Usually I find that disc one is always better than disc two however on this CD I actually find it is more balanced. There seems to be a lot more songs I listen to on disc two of this newest release from now than any of the other discs I have owned. There are 44 tracks in total so of course I do not listen to every single song but there are a lot more that I listen to rather than skip. The songs cover the chart well for the time it was released and has around 11 to 12 number one hits all on one compilation. Along with all these hits are a number of songs that came high in the charts so are still very popular. I find most of these songs you will have heard before somewhere as they are played over and over on the radio. Some of them I am sick of as they have been overplayed like 'call me maybe' by Carly Rae Jepson however my children love this song so unfortunately it still gets a lot of play in our house. Other songs like Ed Sheeran with 'small bump' I cannot get enough of and I often skip through to reach this first. There is a lot of dance tunes and r &b on this CD more so than any other of the now CD's I own but I think this is mainly because it is becoming more main stream and therefore moving higher up the charts. R&b does seem to dominate this album so if you do not like this genre of music it may not be worth purchasing it for the few songs dotted in between. I also find there is a great mix or artists we have singers who have released their first big hit like Carly Rae, Rita Ora and Conor Maynard to long standing contributors such as Coldplay and Rhianna. As I look down the list of tracks I can find myself singing each and every one of them. This is because 99% of the songs on this album are really catchy, the type of song that stays in your head for the whole day. Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band - Sing will of course continue to remind me of the queens jubilee celebrations for years to come which I think was a great addition to the album to reflect on the time this album was released. There is also Plan B with his Ill mannors title track that is a sad reminder of the London riots that recently happened. There are really only a handful of songs that I do not really listen to or actually skip when they begin to play. The rest of the songs I either love or sit singing along in the car or ones that I can stand but just feel they have all ready been overplayed on the radio and music channels. I like that a lot of the songs are upbeat making you want to tap your foot or get up and dance. There are a lot more upbeat songs than slow love ballads which I find refreshing compared to the other now albums. Over all I think this is a great album and although the 'pop' songs seem to becoming fewer on each new release traded for more R & B and dance songs this is mainly due to the fact that this type of music is doing a lot better in the charts. This CD does not fail to impress they have managed to pick the perfect songs to reflect the charts from the last few months. It is more mainstream music so if you like something a little different then this is not the CD for you however if you enjoy the songs played by radios such as capital and radio one you will enjoy this CD. The disc retails at around £11 which I think is great considering there are 44 different songs on there. It is available from music stores, supermarkets or just put it in to Google and a number of online stores will show up. I would highly recommend this album to anyone it has a collection of the best loved songs from the time between the relase of now 81 and now 82. CD1: 01. Fun feat. Janelle Monáe - We Are Young 02. a great album that pulls all the songs of this summer together in one place

If I'm honest I had made a rule in my head and stopped myself buying compilation albums in recent years mainly because the first cd seems to be great and the second cd stays in the box and is sometimes more useful as a coaster however I have just broken this rule and I'm pretty glad I did. We have all heard of, and most of us own a 'now that what I call music' album, renowned for gathering most of the popular tracks together and thrusting them on to 2 CD's every 6 months. It was the television advert for this CD that drew me in as they normally do however using previous knowledge I decided to look up the playlist online and was pleasantly surprised. THE PLAYLIST CD1 1. We Are Young - Fun feat. Janelle Monáe 2. Call Me Maybe - Carly Rae Jepsen 3. Payphone - Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa 4. Whistle - Flo Rida 5. Princess Of China - Coldplay & Rihanna 6. Feel The Love - Rudimental feat. John Newman 7. Starships - Nicki Minaj 8. Where Have You Been - Rihanna 9. R.I.P. - Rita Ora feat. Tinie Tempah 10. Can't Say No - Conor Maynard 11. Boyfriend - Justin Bieber 12. Small Bump - Ed Sheeran 13. Oliver Twist - D'Banj 14. Black Heart - Stooshe 15. Part Of Me - Katy Perry 16. Primadonna - Marina & The Diamonds 17. Picking Up The Pieces - Paloma Faith 18. Drive By - Train 19. Sparks - Cover Drive 20. I Won't Give Up - Jason Mraz 21. Too Close - Alex Clare 22. My Kind Of Love - Emeli Sandé CD2 1. This Is Love - will.i.am feat. Eva Simons 2. Call My Name - Cheryl 3. Hot Right Now - DJ Fresh Feat. Rita Ora 4. Young - Tulisa 5. Turn Me On - David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj 6. Let's Go - Calvin Harris feat. Ne-Yo 7. Scream - Usher 8. LaserLight - Jessie J feat. David Guetta 9. Turn Up The Music - Chris Brown 10. Chasing The Sun - The Wanted 12. 30 Days - The Saturdays 13. Euphoria - Loreen 14. GreyHound - Swedish House Mafia 15. 212 - Azealia Banks feat. Lazy Jay 16. iLL Manors - Plan B 17. So Good - B.o.B 18. Level Up - Sway 19. There She Goes - Taio Cruz 20. Express Yourself - Labrinth 21. Only The Horses - Scissor Sisters 22. When She Was Mine - Lawson 23. Sing - Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band As you can see there is a little something for everybody and luckily for me some of my favourite tracks doing the rounds at the moment were included, We are young, payphone, I wont give up, and princess of china were a huge draw for me. But whether it's Eurovision with Loreen, Gary Barlow or Justin Bieber its all included. All the tracks are popular so going into the sounds of each track isn't needed here. For me personally there is only one track I'm not keen on so this CD sits in my CD player and just plays through with my sometimes awful singing cheering it on and unlike previous compilations when the first CD finishes instead of starting it from the beginning again I tend to swap to CD 2 something I have rarely found myself doing before. I would like to point out although I don't have a favourite CD I have asked opinion from others and majority have said CD one. The layout of the album is well constructed with a good flow through the disc, there is very little jumping in tempo making this album carry the listener along. The booklet not only contains the song information but a little about each artist allowing anyone who has purchased the CD to easily identify the artist and find out which album the track is taken from and therefore works well as a quick preview of some of the best albums we've seen recently. As well as a cheeky gift for yourself this CD would make the perfect gift as lets be honest there are very few people who couldn't find at least one track they enjoy amongst the 44 songs chosen to represent the best tracks filling the radio station playlists throughout the country. The cost of the the album is around £11 which i thought wasnt bad for the quality and quantity of the music. What more could you ask for in a CD that brings together 12 UK number ones and all the tracks we love to hear playing from our speakers .....Now that's what I call music.
