Advantages: The most popular tracks on one disc.

Disadvantages: A lot more R & B than other Now albums.

When I was a child I always used to purchase the Now albums as they collect the most popular songs from a few months between each release putting them all on two discs for us to listen too. I really cannot believe we are at now 82 but when I saw this in Asda I decided to pick it up as we had needed a new CD for the car. What I like about this CD is it really is a mix of different types of music. This means I can enjoy the CD, my children have favourite songs on this CD and even when my niece comes to stay this is the first CD that she reaches for to listen to in the car. It really does cover all tastes and age ranges meaning it is great for anyone to listen to.

All though a lot of the songs are very upbeat there are different genres of music thrown in there. You have anything from a love ballad to full on rap music so it gives you a chance to listen to something new that you may not have heard before. Usually I find that disc one is always better than disc two however on this CD I actually find it is more balanced. There seems to be a lot more songs I listen to on disc two of this newest release from now than any of the other discs I have owned. There are 44 tracks in total so of course I do not listen to every single song but there are a lot more that I listen to rather than skip. The songs cover the chart well for the time it was released and has around 11 to 12 number one hits all on one compilation. Along with all these hits are a number of songs that came high in the charts so are still very popular.

I find most of these songs you will have heard before somewhere as they are played over and over on the radio. Some of them I am sick of as they have been overplayed like 'call me maybe' by Carly Rae Jepson however my children love this song so unfortunately it still gets a lot of play in our house. Other songs like Ed Sheeran with 'small bump' I cannot get enough of and I often skip through to reach this first.

There is a lot of dance tunes and r &b on this CD more so than any other of the now CD's I own but I think this is mainly because it is becoming more main stream and therefore moving higher up the charts. R&b does seem to dominate this album so if you do not like this genre of music it may not be worth purchasing it for the few songs dotted in between. I also find there is a great mix or artists we have singers who have released their first big hit like Carly Rae, Rita Ora and Conor Maynard to long standing contributors such as Coldplay and Rhianna. As I look down the list of tracks I can find myself singing each and every one of them. This is because 99% of the songs on this album are really catchy, the type of song that stays in your head for the whole day.

Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band - Sing will of course continue to remind me of the queens jubilee celebrations for years to come which I think was a great addition to the album to reflect on the time this album was released. There is also Plan B with his Ill mannors title track that is a sad reminder of the London riots that recently happened. There are really only a handful of songs that I do not really listen to or actually skip when they begin to play. The rest of the songs I either love or sit singing along in the car or ones that I can stand but just feel they have all ready been overplayed on the radio and music channels. I like that a lot of the songs are upbeat making you want to tap your foot or get up and dance. There are a lot more upbeat songs than slow love ballads which I find refreshing compared to the other now albums.

Over all I think this is a great album and although the 'pop' songs seem to becoming fewer on each new release traded for more R & B and dance songs this is mainly due to the fact that this type of music is doing a lot better in the charts. This CD does not fail to impress they have managed to pick the perfect songs to reflect the charts from the last few months. It is more mainstream music so if you like something a little different then this is not the CD for you however if you enjoy the songs played by radios such as capital and radio one you will enjoy this CD.

The disc retails at around £11 which I think is great considering there are 44 different songs on there. It is available from music stores, supermarkets or just put it in to Google and a number of online stores will show up. I would highly recommend this album to anyone it has a collection of the best loved songs from the time between the relase of now 81 and now 82.
