... dance-pop/R&B track). JLS's "Hottest Girl In The World" also struck me in terms of how high the song is and how hard it is to sing (I know, they probably had a couple of takes plus editing to get it right).
There were a lot of club songs; I wasn't expecting otherwise, being a compilation of chart hits - even if this did get a little grating at times. I wouldn't really say that I fancy most of today's new music. Nevertheless, compilation albums I find are a good way to keep up to date with what many pop artists have been putting out (a good conversation topic) - and usually I'll end up finding a few songs that I like, as well. Like many other albums of this sort, NOW 83 is loaded with hits and misses, though I think I'd lean more towards hits for this CD. CD1 begins with the K-pop viral sensation PSY's "Gangnam Style", and despite the fact that it's overplayed and I can't understand a word of Korean, the beat certainly is infectious and the hook catchy.
