Contrary to my opinion on a lot of the Now That's What I Call Music compilations, Now 49 is one of my favourites. It encompasses a wonderful selection of music from the spring and early summer of 2001, and there aresome greats on here. Both CDs contain powerful and memorable tunes from the short timespan, and are very enjoyable. Disc 1, which contains 20 tracks, starts off very well wth the in-form Robbie Williams and Eternity, before announcing Gabrielle, Atomic Kitten and Blue's All Rise. The catchy Don't Stop Movin' from S Club 7 was one of their dancier tracks and one I really enjoyed. Outkast's fast paced vocals on Ms Jackson is a fave of mine, as is ... Read the complete review

What a wonderful Double CD Set! When I got this, I thought it was great, but it doesn't (as no NOW except the Christamas one) have that same buzz around it as NOW 50 did, and so I hadn't looked forward to it as much. Now, 9 months on, it is my favourite NOW easily of 2001. Disc One is, as usual, the "big pop hits" at the start, then the all round songs that were top 10/20 hits at the end, or that were too cheesy to be higher up the listings. Robbie Williams' "Eternity" is a boring start, and I don't ever listen to it. Gabrielle is give or take for me, you'll have your own thoughts on her. I get into it at track ... I found this CD album quite by accident... There I was having a good old nosy through my mums CD cabinet and then I noticed that the Now Collection looked a bit different?! It went from Now 43 to Now 49... ' 49?!' I thought to myself, 'Now that wasn't there the last time I looked.' And the last time I looked was yesterday... I took it out of the cabinet and looked at the songs. 'Great! Its the newest one.' On it were all my fave songs at the moment, set out just like Now 48. All the groovy, dance beats on CD2 and all the slow slow and boring, [or lively and loud!] pop tunes on CD1. I couldn't live without listening to CD2, thing ... Read the complete review

Now Thats What I Call Music 49 was released in 2001 and when listening to it, reminds me exactly of that time! I dont mind this album, usually the Now albums from this time are full of cheesy, poppy tracks that I would never listen to but this does have some good song. Ok, most of the second CD isnt the best but CD one I do like. Some of my favourite songs on the CD are "The Rock Show" by Blink 182, "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus and "Pyramid Song" by Radiohead. There are a few cheesy songs on here such as "Its Raining Men" by Geri Halliwwell but I guess theres someone out there that might like that kind of track. There are quite a ... A couple of great tracks
Most of the album is rubbish
Grom - Behemoth
Experimental, atmospheric and original black metal.
Some experiments don't really work, some songs are too long, and it's all fairly uneven.

Quite original
Little Variation

Another Egyptian-themed brutal death metal album for your ever-growing collection.

"Ripper" Owens back doing what he does best. In fact, the only thing he can do.
