This is the George Strait album that really brought George into the limelight not only in Texas but on a national scale. The songs are some of the best-written material he has ever produced. The music is heavily based in Texas music roots but should be enjoyable to any listeners who enjoy any of his current material. This album set George's style in stone and he continues the same path today with very few experiments. (He is a fan of big-band swing and Western swing and made some forays in that area.)
