Its just a shame that The Zombies seemed to be extremely unlucky compared to their contemporaries, they had to fund the stereo mix themselves and eventually the band split before the album saw the light of day, after they became disenchanted with a lack of funds and public interest. Ask anyone to name a classic 60s psychadelic album and Sgt Pepper or Pet Sounds will probably spring to mind first, however, equal to any album of that time is Odessey and Oracle. This album is not just a great 60s album, its one of the best albums ever recorded but has sadly not received the widepsread recognition it deserved. Recorded in 1967 in Abbey Road almost immediately after The Beatles had finished recording Sgt Pepper, its just as grounbreaking and melodic.
