Advantages: amazing harmonies, great musicianship,

Disadvantages: none,..just not as well known as it should be!!

Ask anyone to name a classic 60s psychadelic album and Sgt Pepper or Pet Sounds will probably spring to mind first, however, equal to any album of that time is Odessey and Oracle. This album is not just a great 60s album, its one of the best albums ever recorded but has sadly not received the widepsread recognition it deserved.
Recorded in 1967 in Abbey Road almost immediately after The Beatles had finished recording Sgt Pepper, its just as grounbreaking and melodic. Its just a shame that The Zombies seemed to be extremely unlucky compared to their contemporaries, they had to fund the stereo mix themselves and eventually the band split before the album saw the light of day, after they became disenchanted with a lack of funds and public interest.
The most well known song on the album is probably 'Time of the season', a hit in the US and most recently the soundtrack to a well known cider advert, however there are many great songs on this album, 'maybe after she's gone' and 'hung up on a dream' are just as good if not better, and there are much more.
This is well worth a listen and a must for any collection.

Summary: one of the best albums ever produced
