Rock 'n' Roll - Motorhead
by dangaroo - written on 09/11/08 (Useful, 24 readings)
Rating:
Rock n Roll was Motorhead's 8th album and it came out in 1988, ten years after the band's inception. The album didn't too particularly that well commercially and while a few of the tracks sound similar in what is a typically fast-paced Motorhead trademark sound there are some absoulte corkers. My personal favourite is the track"Eat the Rich" which was written to be used in the film of the same name, one I can't boast to have seen unfortunately. The track itself is a classic though, pounding it's way through the lyrics "Come on Baby, Eat the Rich, Put the bite on the son of a bitch" and entertaining food lyrics like "Sitting here in the ...

Motorizer - Motorhead

Rating:
Motorizer is the 2008 album of Motorhead. Released by Steamhammer / SPV, amazingly it is the band's 19th album and with Lemmy at the age of 62, it's astonishing that he's still as full of energy and the music is as angry as ever. Of course it is full of trademark Motorhead sounds and the fast pace combined with Lemmy's sore throat sound does make several tracks sound quite similar but it's as good a material that the band have produced in recent years and is full of top drawer guitar work. For fans of Motorhead this is a must have and they'll no doubt put it up there as a legendary album. One thing very noticeable about this album is that it has a very fast punky ...

Orgasmatron - Motorhead

Rating:
train, its eyes glowing molten and its mouth snarling with great sharp teeth, should give you an idea of what is to come. I think this is the first Motörhead album I ve come across with a full array of strong tracks, unlike the albums "Bomber", "Ace of Spades" and "Overkill", which all had their fair share of forgettables. Track 4 is "Claw", which begins with and continues a thunderous drumming throughout, and contains unusual screams from Lemmy, nearly tearing his throat out in the process. He sure loves that claw. Except for "Deaf Forever", I hadn t heard any of the other songs on the album before sitting down to ...
