Today I will review the fabulous Best of CD of the band Placebo, titled "Once More With Feeling". Loaded with feelings Why did I buy it? I've grown to be a huge fan of Placebo. They are a great band with very unique, emotional songs I have most of the albums, but I really wanted this gem as well - a CD with all their great singles from 1996 to 2004. You get a lot of bands being compared to Marmite, you either love them or hate them. Placebo are one such example. My wife can't even look at singer Brian Molko and she doesn't like his voice either. Yes, it's very distinctive but I happen to really like it. I guess the closest band you could compare Placebo's sound to is The Cure. In fact You Don't Care About Us reminds me very much of Boys Don't Cry. Placebo first came to my attention in 1996 when I heard their debut single Teenage Angst. I felt I would do a small review for this lot. They have provided a somewhat miserable soundtrack to part of my life and their music is not as widely discussed as I would like. This album gathers some of their biggest hits to date. Who are they: UK based Indie group, with alternative and androgynous lead singer Brian Molko.
