The album that came after the Foo Fighters 'There Is Nothing Left To Loose' was always going to be difficult. Arguably that was their best album, with a great consistentency of catchy rock tunes, definitely a favorite. So does One By One soar to those heights? or does it fall short? In short it isn't anywhere near as good, but still has a few memorable tunes. What it doesn't have is the consistency however, with many songs being largely forgettable. So a rundown of each song: All My Life: A great opener, a simple guitar riff that doesn't get tiring. This is classic foo fighters rock material, but with a darker edge. It really sets the mood of the album as ... Read the complete review

I am a big fan of Foo Fighters, and have all their albums, However i find that this is the ultimate Foos album. This one i believe to be the peak of their tallent and one that I'll never get bored of. Each of the foos albums have some amazing songs on. Theres a gem on every one. However when i listen to One By One, i find that all of the songs are great. There's a song for every occasion, with some head bangers, and some slow songs. They came out with some great singles including Low, All My Life and Times Like These, but my favourite song on this album would have to be Have It All. Its impossible to like the Foo Fighter and ... Nirvana....now there is a band which evokes many different reactions from people. Was Kurt Cobain a musical genius or completely overrated? I come somewhere in the middle because I was not a huge fan, but I can 100% appreciate tracks such as 'Come As You Are' for the classic tracks that they are. Unless you were a devoted Nirvana follower, you probably never paid the long haired drummer a second glance......until now that is. That long haired drummer was Dave Grohl, and after Cobain's death, he set out to follow his dream, which was to make music. He was satisfied that he had made it big once, and was happy with the idea that as long as he could keep making ... Read the complete review

When Nirvana ended after the death of Kurt Cobain, no one would have expected Dave Grohl to come out from behind the drum kit and be a great songsmith in his own right. During his time in Nirvana his solo contribution was a hollow little B-Side tune called Marigold. But now he fronts the Foo Fighters and with this their fourth album he shows no signs of slowing down. The first self entitled album was a very raw affair full of grunge anthems and no sign of real production gloss in sight. The second album 'The Colour And The Shape' was a more polished affair with a mix of grungy tunes and more heartfelt songwriting. 'Nothing To Lose' was a far more mellow ... Read the complete review

Released in 2002, 'One by One' is the fourth studio album from the American rock band that is the Foo Fighters. I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the band, I do however like to listen to the bands music from time to time as in the past the band has produced a number of absolutely excellent rock tracks I've found. 'One by One' consists of a total of eleven tracks and this therefore provides for 55 minutes of music. The album gets off to a brilliant start with the high-tempo rock track that is 'All My Life'. The band actually released this one as the first single from the album and to listen to it's not hard to hear why. It's a fantastic rock track which ... Read the complete review
