Disadvantages: Some songs really outshine others

Indie rock band FOO FIGHTERS released their fourth album ONE BY ONE which is a really impressive album.
The album features eleven tracks of hard rock and some slower songs.

1 - ALL MY LIFE - A real headbanger of a track featuring a great guitar solo three quarters of the way in. Brilliant opener.

2- LOW - Great vocals from lead singer Dave Grohl really make this song.

3 - HAVE IT ALL - Not my favourite song though the lyrics are wonderful.

4 - TIMES LIKE THESE - My favourite song on the album. Fantastic lyrics and the chorus is brilliant. Quite a gentle song that does build towards the chorus.

5 - DISENCHANTED LULLABY - The lyrics are better than the music in this song.

6 - TIRED OF YOU - Once more lyrics outshine the music.

7 - HALO - A really beautiful song where Grohl's vocals shine with beautifully supported guitar.

8 - LONELY AS YOU - Another slower song that builds.

9 - OVERDRIVE - A song full of energy and enthusiasm that is really catchy after a few listens.

10 - BURN AWAY - Album filler though not a bad song.

11 - COME BACK - A nice gentle song to finish the album.

This album proves that FOO FIGHTERS as an indie band are the best at mixing headbanging songs with some beautiful ballads. The music and Grohl's vocals suit each other perfectly.

A slight negative is that songs like Times Like These and All My Life are so much better than the rest though you will always find stand out tracks on albums.

Overall, a wonderful, touching album with alot of feeling!

Summary: FOO FIGHTERS INDIE ROCK AT IT'S BEST!
