Advantages: Only one live album from the original band, but a great one!

Disadvantages: none that I can see

This was their fifth album and the first [and only by the original members] done live. It was released in 1976. Their four preceeding albums were:

"Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd" and "Second Helping" in 1974, "Nuthin' Fancy" in 1975 and "Gimme Back My Bullets" in 1976.

The songs were:
Workin' for MCA, I Ain't the One, Searching, Tuesday's Gone, Saturday Night Special, Travelin' Man, Whiskey Rock-A-Roller, Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Three Steps, Call Me the Breeze, T for Texas, The Needle and the Spoon, Crossroads, and Free Bird.

This is one of the key albums of the 70's in my opinion. People who never really got into southern rock - or perhaps never really knew what it was bought this record and started going to their concerts.

This was Steve Gaines' first album with the band and actually joined them only about a month earlier. You would never guess it after hearing this!

My personal favorites are Tuesday's Gone, The Needle and the Spoon and of course Free Bird. I always liked live albums for the most part, but this one along with All the World's a Stage and Frampton Comes Alive! were major "live" contributions to seventies music!

The sound is tight and the music and vocals are right! The production good and all in all, well it's just a great album!

I was fortunate enough to see one of their concerts before the fateful plane crash that took Ronnie from us, I will always remember that night.

If you have even passing interest in southern rock, seventies music, Lynyrd Skynyrd, guitar music or just good rock music then you need to get this album! There is also a remastered anniversary version with added tracks from the 3 concert set at the Fox theatre in Atlanta Georgia.

Summary: If you only bought one Skynyrd album, let it be this one!
