Advantages: Great Album, Most of the songs are of a really high standard

Disadvantages: Katy's voice sounds slightly whiney on a few os the songs

Katy Perry- music video extra to superstar in no time whatsoever. Most people will not have realised that before she released her first single she appeared in the video for Gym Class Heroes- Cupid's Choke as the main love interest. Not long after this she released her first single 'I Kissed a Girl'. This song features on the album.

1. One of the boys

Song Analysis- This song is an up-tempo song about a girl who wants to be noticed as someone who is attractive to the opposite sex but because she acts like the boys they just see her as one of them.

Favourite Lyric -

I wanna smell like roses, not a baseball team

2. I Kissed a Girl

Song Analysis - Another up-tempo song, the title says it all really it's about a girl kissing a girl! Experimenting if you like..

3. Waking Up in Vegas

Song Analysis - Again an up-tempo song like most of the songs on the album, although the first verse is a little slower and less up-tempo but seems to work really well never less.

Favourite Lyric -
I lost my fake ID
But you lost the motel key
Spare me your freakin' dirty looks now
Don't blame me

4. Thinking of You

Song Analysis- Thinking of you is a slower more emotional song about someone who is still thinking of an ex and wanting them back. This song really shows off Katy's powerful vocal talent.

Favourite Lyric-
'Cause when I'm with him I am thinking of you
Thinking of you, what you would do
If you were the one who was spending the night
Oh, I wish that I was looking into your, your eyes

5. Mannequin - Another up-tempo song. I find Katy Perry's voice to be a bit whiney on some parts of this song towards the beginning. I love the lyrics and concept though. It's about someone who seems to have no emotion whatsoever.

I wish you could feel that my love is real

6. Ur So Gay

Song Analysis - This song is about a boy who's a bit girly so reminds me of my brother it probably shouldn't do since he's a cage fighter but when he lived at home he used to spend hours in front of a mirror getting ready so that's why. Another up-tempo song that's quite bouncy.

Favourite lyric -
You're so sad maybe you should buy a happy meal
You're so skinny you should really supersize the deal

7. Hot n Cold

Song Analysis - This song is about a lover that changes his mind a lot one minute things will be great with them and the next not so good. Another up-tempo song.

Favourite Lyric-
You change your mind like a girl changes clothes
Yeah you PMS like a b*tch I would know

8. If You Can Afford Me

Song Analysis- I LOVE this song it's my favourite song of the album. It's about not settling for a lover who doesn't love you or treat you right. Again as with most of the songs it is quite up-tempo.

9. Lost

Song Analysis- I personally think this is the least memorable song on the album. It's not that it's a bad song I just don't think it's anything too special. This one is a slower song with a slightly whiney tone to it. It's about feeling lost.

Is there a light is there a light at the end of the road
I'm pushing everyone away cos I can't feel this anymore

10. Self Inflicted

Song Analysis- Up-tempo song. Despite the seriousness sounding title it is actually quite a positive song. It's about someone getting hurt enjoying themselves but not caring about it because it's what they want to do and they're doing it with the one they love.

These wounds are self inflicted

11. I'm still breathing

Song Analysis- This song is about someone who is suffering the effects of a breakup.

Favourite Lyric -
I'm still breathing
But we're been dead for a while

12. Fingerprints

Song Analysis - This song is about somebody trying their hardest to succeed and leave a mark on the world.

Favourite Lyric-
Voted most likely to end up on the back of a milk box drink
Looks like I'm letting em down
Cos 7.75 isn't worth an hour of my hard working time
When you can't afford half the sh*t they advertise

13. Bonus Track - I Kissed a Girl (rock remix)

Overall i think the album is really good value for money there's very few songs that i don't like that much. When i first bought the album i must have replayed it about 20 times a day.
