A pop group who I am sure that most people have put to the back of their memories! Yet, on reflection, this song is worth returning to. It serves as a reminder that pure pop can exist and entertain.
Who are they?
The group comprised a selection of boys and girls, who shared the vocals. I understand two or three of these girls are now in the group The Saturdays. They specialised in fun pop music, targetted at children and camp men.
On this release:
The lead single is a surefire winner, in which the girls take on the main set of vocals. Trying to describe the song...think of Steps and S Club and you are on the right track. The verses are playful and they build to an addictive chorus which refuses to get out of your head. While it is fair to say that their voices are quite high pitched, they are all in tune and the production is pretty good here.
The song peaks at over three minutes, so is about the right length. I would say it would be a great song to play to kick start a kid's party or to play at a really cheesy disco.
The CD comes with two bonus tracks, one of which is their cover of 'Reach'. It fails to live up the glamour of S Club 7's version and seems a rather cheap and tacky way to fill up the disc. I would have liked more original material.
There is also a CD ROM which adds some value to the package and some rather naff cover artwork. I advise downloading this track and 'Sundown' if you are a huge fan of this brand of pop music.
