Advantages: Overload is a great track
Disadvantages: Some of the rest alittle samey
As much as i support Girls Aloud, i do admit that Sugababes have been doing this type of music longer and with more orginality. I think they've done well to survive almost seven albums and several member changes and new line up's and the UK has always accepted new members. This album features the line up of Mutya, Shiobhan who left and Keisha who is today the only original member in the band.
This is quite an impressive album, when i listened to it, I thought that it was quite original and I liked the rough and edgy live production and vocals. This was released years ago now, and they would be hailed as the new biggest girl band if this was released now.
I am full of Overload, brillant production on the song and without a doubt there best song ever in the early years. Love that chorus, rough edgy and original. I think the other highlights include the brillant Soul Sound, which really is soulful. Brillant focals from all of them i have to say, really really impressive. This album lacks production and that is a great thing for once. I also think New Year stands out, and has a great feel good feeling. I also am full of praise of One Touch, another brillant song really original and title track of the album.
What a great debut, it's original, rough and edgy. The truth is they could have been dropped at this stage but they re-invented themselves later. They're went that successful with this album, but i love the edgness, lack of production and to their credit they show they are all brillant singers with great vocal range. I think personally they put the Spice Girls to shame
Summary: Debut album by Sugababes
