Advantages: A fun, catchy album
Disadvantages: None
Move over all you Britney clones (except Christina Aguilera – I really like her!) the original and best (as well as Christina Aguilera) is back in town with her dazzling new album ‘…Oops I Did It Again!’ Britney returns with a slightly different sound as before, she is so much more grown up! Read below for a track-by-track review: Oops!...I Did It Again The first single off the album. The beat is really strong and like Britney’s debut song …Baby One More Time it’s a song you can easily dance too. The chorus is very catchy and you'll know all the words once you've heard it two or three times. The song is about a girl who is basically playing with some boy’s mind, making him think she likes him more than she really does. The only bad thing I can say about this song is the fact that is sounds very very similar to her debut …Baby One More Time, but then if something works why change it? Lyrics Include: Oops!...I did it again / I played with your heart / got lost in the game / Oh baby, baby / Oops!...you think I'm in love / that I'm sent from above / I'm not the innocent / Stronger This is a very edgy song with a futuristic sound. The song is about someone who has been crushed and destroyed by her boyfriend, she leaves him and finds herself a stronger person because of it. This is a personal favourite of mine! Lyrics Include: Stronger than yesterday / Now it's nothing but my way / My loneliness ain't killing me no more / I'm stronger / Don't Go Knockin' On My Door This is a cool song, in the beginning the song sounds like something Destiny’s Child would sing. It’s just how she doesn’t want some old boyfriend back. Lyrics Include: I am better off without you / Stronger than ever and I am telling you now / Don't go knockin' on my door / Gotta stay away for su
re / You say you miss me like crazy / Now but I ain't buying that / You better get off of my back / (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction A lot of people say that this song is not as good as the Rolling Stones version. Well I have one thing to say about that. I love this song and I don’t like the rolling stones version at all! This song contains some different lyrics and is more of a dancey tune than their version. Lyrics Include: I can't get no satisfaction / I can't get no reaction / And I try, and I try, and I try, and I try / I can't get no / I can't get no satisfaction/ Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know This is the first slow song so on the album and it’s a corker! Shania Twain co-wrote this song and she did a very good job. It's quite a mature love song about not being the last to know if someone's in love with you. Lyrics Include: Don't, don't let me be the last to know / Don't hold back, just let it go / I need to hear you say / You need me all the way / So if you love me so / Don't let me be the last to know / What U See (Is What U Get) This song has a great fast-paced beat, good lyrics and nice vocals. It also sends out a positive message, it’s about being yourself and not letting anyone change you! Lyrics Include: You should never try to change me / I can be nobody else / And I like the way I am / What you see / Is what you get / This me, hey you, if you want me don't forget / You should take me as I am / 'Cause I can promise you / Baby what you see is what you get / Lucky This is a good song, It's a song about a girl named, Lucky, and how she has everything: money, fame, but she's still lonely and never truly happy, I sometimes wonder if Britney relates to this. The video for this song was pretty pathetic, it’s her worst video to date, but the song made up for it!
Lyrics Include: She's so lucky, she's a star / But she cry, cry, cries in her lonely heart, thinking / If there's nothing missing in my life / Then why do these tears come at night? / One Kiss From You Your usual "I love you but you don't love me back" song, it seems to have a hip-hop influence. Its theme is basically everything would be fine if she could just have one kiss from her true love. Good but forgettable! Lyrics Include: Just one kiss from you, and suddenly / I see the road laid out in front of me / You give me strength, you give me hope / And when you hold me in your arms / You make me whole / And I don't know just what I would do / Without one kiss from you/ Where Are You Now Another slow song about being in love, this song really showcases Britney’s voice! It is a song about how she needs to let go of someone that she once loved, but she wants to make sure that he's ok without her. Lyrics Include: Where are you now / what have you found / where is your heart / when I’m not around / tell me where are you now / you gotta let me know / oh baby.. so I can let you go / Can't Make You Love Me This is a realistic song about having everything except the love you want from someone who won't give it to you. This song is a mighty good dance tune! Lyrics Include: I should be happy with the life I live / Or the things I do / But I can't make you love me / Is it my life or the things I do? / I can't make you love me / I'm just a girl with a crush on you / When Your Eyes Say It This is a really good ballad. You can tell a lot by looking into someone's eyes is the message behind it, someone said (sorry I don’t know who!) “the eyes are the windows to the soul” and this is kind of what this song is about. She speaks her way through the verse’s then sing
in the chorus. Lyrics Include: But when your eyes say it / That's when I know that it's true / I feel it / I feel / the love coming through / I know it / I know that you truly care for me / Cause it's there to see / When your eyes say it/ Girl In The Mirror Her voice in this song is excellent, especially when hitting the high notes! This song kind of reminds me of ‘Lucky’ because it seems to be another song about her. The song is about a girl in the mirror who is very upset, then at the end we discover it is actually her in the mirror! Lyrics Include: If I could I would tell her Not to be afraid / The pain that she's feeling / The sense of loneliness will fade / So dry your tears and rest assured / Love will find you like before / When she's looking back at me / I know nothing really works that easily / Dear Diary This is Britney's first attempt at song writing and I think she has done a really good job! This song is so different because it is sung just like you are reading someone’s diary, cool idea! It's about Britney seeing this boy and wondering if he feels the same about her as she does about him. It was a good song to end this really good album on. Lyrics Include: Dear Diary, today I saw a boy / And I wonder if he noticed me / He took my breath away / Dear Diary, I can't get him off my mind / And it scares me 'cause I've never felt this way / No one in this world knows me better than you do / So Diary, I'll confide in you / If you liked Britney Debut album, you will love this, it is a little more grown up but still 100% Britney Spears Overall this album gets 10/10 Thanyou for taking the time to read my review, I hope it was usefull! PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS, THANX CHRISTOPHENE!

- 26/03/01 Nice op - Doesn't make me like her any more though - "Move over you Britney Clones..." - Isn't Britney a lil' bit manufactured herself though - You still got a Very Useful, as the op was well written, Jamie :-P |

- 25/03/01 I have to admit that I'm not exactly a fan of Ms Spears, but your opinion does make for interesting reading and including lyrics is a very nice touch, top op! |
