Advantages: Lots Of Talent, Some really good songs

Disadvantages: Some low down tracks

With the release of the new album Britney just days away, I've decided to review the last Britney Spears album Oops! I did It Again.

Firstly, it's an impressive display of music considering the 18 year old had planned to release another pop filled album like Baby One More Time.

The only songs I feel aren't impressive are Oops, Can't Make You Love Me and Stronger. They just lack any sort of singing quality whatsoever. Oops! I did it again is another typical pop song, no real effort involved in the makingm, just a big show.

On the other hand, there are some warm welcoming songs such as Lucky, When Your Eyes Say It and Where Are You Now. A long, emotional ballad, Where are You Now shows a side to Britney that the public never see. When Your Eyes Say It is also a new style entered into the usually lame pop world. Britney whisper-sings to the verses, which makes a refreshing change to the lively charged anthems we're used to.

One Kiss From You edges on R and B ground but still is soaked in a pop theme. On Stronger, Britney attempts to act hard. Listen girl, it doesn't suit you. Stronger is a poor, short unsatisfying song which you'll definetley skip.

I was thoroughly suprised to find a Rolling Stones song on here, Spears brings Satisfaction into the modern world, using lyrics suitable for women. It has been given a huge make over for the better.

Don't Go Knockin On My Door is a bit bland, but it still shoots ahead of Can't Make You Love Me, a dance track with little going for it.

The last single to come off this album, Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know has a slinky, sexual sort of effect to it. An out of place song on a pop- dance filled album, DLMBTLTK also has a sprinkle of country and western touches. I seriosuly don't understand why this didn't get into the Uk top 5 (especially with that raunchy video).

Although What U See Is What U Get may be a p
op song, I think it reaches out further than the usual displays do. With an incredibly sing-a-long chorus and honest lyrics, this would of been a better single that Stronger.

Girl In The Mirror is an elegant, tearful song about a girl with problems in her life. I'm really glad they put this track onto the UKversion of the CD, because it's one of the finest.

Dear Diary (written by Miss Spears herself) is too short by half. It remains at a slow pace for the whole song and if it were made a minute longer and twice as fast it would be much better.

Heart and You Got It All only appear on the special edition version of Oops! Heart is a lovely slow ballad with a soothing violin sound drifting in the air. You Got It All is less impressing, but still provides a good listen.

Oops! I did it again isn't just for pop lovers, if you like dance or r and b you're likely to enjoy this short but sweet effective album. A memorable CD that'll remain with me forever.
