Advantages: It is funky pop pure catchy and so Britney
Disadvantages: Quite a lot of ballads
'Oops! I Did It Again' is an all time pop classic from produced the great Max Martin who also works with the fabulous BSB, this is Brit's second album and is by far a massive improvement from 'Baby One More Time'. Brit has matured into an aggressive music-loving teenager and pop is definitely her forte so sit back, hold on tight and enjoy the ride. The album opens up with the amazing # 1 title track Oops! I Did It Again This thunders in with horns and engines and whatever else your imagination can conjure up and if you have seen the video I am sure there will be a spaceship or two in your thoughts, Brit finally declares to us she is not all that innocent! Is this a secret message? Who knows? Stronger She sure is that again another song that sees Brit throw out those amazing vocals and the sexy husky parts we all love, this has BSB 'Larger Than Life' all the way through it, but is definitely a classic Britney track that would do brilliant if a single! Don't Go Knockin' On My Door This is Brit's first attempt on the album at R&B and she is very good at it as well, although the words to the song are a bit poor it has a great bass line and the vocals are good, just a pity it goes no where! (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction Well it is unimaginable that the innocence of Britney could deal with such a rock song, 'Rolling Stones'? Wahey they must have been impressed with this, it is absolutely amazing a very funky soul version that makes the 'Stones' look so tame. Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know Imagine falling in love with someone so badly that you did not know that they were in love with you, well this is for you. Britney gives us the first ballad from the album and it is beautiful, breaking her heart because all she wants to hear you say is I love you, Oh My God I am almost in tears here... Be
autiful!! What U See (Is What U Get) Back to funky R&B and this one has more body to it this time and words that have a meaning to them and a story, it could do well as a single but then again appropriate as an album filler. Lucky Single # 2 from 'Oops!' and this is my fave Brit song of all time, I really think she is telling us a true story here, this is what the wee lass has to endure daily, is she trying to tell us she has had enough? She has been rather quiet since the release of this? Is our Brit so sad or does she enjoy the fame?? One Kiss From You This is back to ballads and it sounds very like 'Toni Braxton' and is more of a heart breaker than 'Last To Know' and firmly establishes that Brit is good at the old tear jerkers, but it still has the distinct sound of 'BSB' in there somewhere. Where Are You Now Another ballad and this one is so haunting and sounds very like 'Celine'. Starting of nice and soft then getting stronger all the way as Brit's heart opens up to us all pleading to know where her love has gone. A bit tame but after a few listens, you appreciate the beauty of this one. Can't Make You Love Me Back to the 'BSB' sound again that is more probably a Brit sound now, as this album is full of that huge funky bass line and thundering chorus. Brit's in love in this one but now that she is famous, she is finding hard to find the right one! When Your Eyes Say It All Saints, All Saints oh no it is our princess Brit, but this is so like 'Never Ever' you could almost mistake it, a poor attempt for Brit but works good on the album. Girl In The Mirror Another ballad, which now makes it overkill. It seems if they are just put on to make the album a bit longer and value for money, although this one is actually quite good and tells a lovely story, that a mil
lion young teenage girls all over the world can surely relate to it. Dear Diary Guess what? Yeah another ballad and this one is just dire, I skip it all the time, screeching high vocals from our normally courageous and feisty Pop Goddess, another filler that there is no need for a total let down for a classic album.
