 ... on an Oily Stage" - 4:23 The album has this fantastic opening track with great guitars and fab lyrics. I remember hearing this on the radio and falling in love with the song. This was before I even heard the album. This was the first single from the album. * "Be Gone" - 2:52- I found this song to be very cryptic. I actually had to look up some of the words to see what they actually meant. Its still a great song but I found you had to really listen to this to get it's meaning. A really thought through...more

British Sea Power are a band that come from Kendal but are based in Brighton. The band consists of four members :- * Yan (Scott Wilkinson) - Vocals, guitar * Noble (Martin Noble) - Guitar, piano, keyboards * Hamilton (Neil Wilkinson) - Bass, vocals, guitar * Wood (Matthew Wood) - Drums The band are big fans of wildlife and if you listen to this album it clearly shows as they use bird noises in their song quite a lot. I have only ever really been into punk music but when I first heard British Sea Power I was relatively surprised and they grew on me. I found their music magical and the lyrics were amazing. Open Season was the second studio album by British Sea Power and the last to feature Eamon who left to concentrate on his own band Brakes in early 2006. The bands first album, 2003's The Decline Of British Sea Power received critical acclaim but Open Season is actually an improvement which says an awful lot about this band's talents. It Ended On An Oily Stage (the first single release off the album) opens up the album with a hugely catchy chorus in which vocalist and guitarist Yan sings "He found God in a parking lot"!
