Ordinary Man has some of the catchiest most memorable songs Christy has ever recorded. It is also, in my opinion, one of the most successful albums in a purely musical sense. Lyrics and Christy's singing apart, the memorable melodies flow, and the producer (one of Christy's old pals, Donal Lunny who has produced over half of Christy's albums) has made use of a wide range of traditional Celtic instruments, from Uillean pipes, mandolins and accordions to more modern popular instruments like electric guitars and keyboards.
