Zoom Karaoke - Nineties Superhits

Premium Review Let's Pretend To Be...Whigfield! (337 words)
by benlepensive - written on 26/08/09 (Very useful, 16 readings)
Rating:

My journey into the rather dubious world of karaoke continues, as the Zoom series arrives at the nineties. The nineties was a great time for music, with some real stand-out songs. Spread over three discs, there are 51 tracks on here to have a bash at with your singing talents. Disc one starts with the sixteen weeks at number one song 'Everything I Do' by Bryan Adams. You will need a gruff voice for this and some of the higher parts are hard to pull off. You could attempt a duet with the bittersweet Beautiful South track, or maybe do some hushed creepy vocals to Jimmy Nail. One of my faves is Cher's 'Believe,' by how on earth do you perform it without a ...

Zoom Karaoke - Seventies Superhits

Premium Review Time To Dress Up As Barry Gibb! (413 words)
by benlepensive - written on 23/08/09 (Very useful, 9 readings)
Rating:

Argh! I can hear you screaming already as I get underway with yet another venture into the dodgy world of karaoke. The Zoom series prove ever reliable with their karaoke cds, this one takes us back to the seventies. I was not a child of the seventies, but I can still waffle at length about some of the tracks on here, so here come the highs and lows! Spread over three discs and comprising an impressive fifty songs, the first disc gets underway with some real classics. Don McLean is overlong and depressing but there is something sentimental about his 'American Pie' which warms the heart. Gloria Gaynor is at hand for those typical sort of women whose creativity is severely stifled ...

Zoom Karaoke - Eighties Superhits

Premium Review Let's Do Kylie...In A Manner Of Words (344 words)
by benlepensive - written on 23/08/09 (Very useful, 13 readings)
Rating:

As I continue my exploration into the dubious world of karaoke, I come to the wonderful eighties. The eighties was all about pop and shoulder pads, so let us see how many we can spot on here! Spread over three discs and comprising fifty songs, this is collection guaranteed to appeal to those who grew up on a diet of Bananarama and Duran Duran. On close inspection, disc one heralds quite a few treats. You could pull off Kylie's 'I Should Be So Lucky' but ensure that you have a bird's nest hairdo! The guys could tackle Aha, which is always a party favourite, though Morten's high notes could pose a few problems, maybe invest in some very tight trousers! If you're after a ...

Some great instrumental performances. Heard it all before.

Lots of banger Some tracks need time to grow

A perfect 34 minutes of music, vocally exceptional and highly instrumentally entertaining. I fail to think of any.
