As the first person to review this album on here, it gives me pleasure to say Paul s voice has helped me at many difficult a time through the years, to overcome self doubt and believe in myself. His warm tones always lift the spirits and this greatest hits is a reminder of just how wonderful his work is. Who is he: Bedfordshire based Paul was at his peak in the eighties, quiet of late, making a brief appearance on a reality tv cooking programme. On this album: Everytime You Go Away gets things off to a great start. His voice reminds me of a dog in pain, as he hold onto those notes and seems to howl the lyrics with such misery in his voice. He is from Bedfordshire did you know, Mr P Paul Young has been quiet of late in the charts, though he was on that Hell s Kitchen programme about a year or so ago. No Parlez is the exotically titled album which helped propel him to the dizzy heights of stardom. There are eleven songs, here are some of the highlights. Come Back And Stay is a sultry and moody affair, in which Paul is begging his girlfriend to come back to him after things have gone wrong. His vocals show a curious maturity and there is an inviting warmth pushing through in his tone which really adds a soulful edge to the song. I would play this when I was feeling down and in the dumps. Love Will Tear Us ...
