To say I liked Inme to start off with would be a lie. I didn't like their first single Underdose it did have a catchy chorus but the sound appeared too bland. But it set up Inme perfectly, an aggressively depressing band filled with emotion… and I was willing to listen to what else they may perform. And that was Firefly. Now Firefly is the greatest of their early single releases (should be noted they released 3 singles before releasing the album) and is far better than Underdose in both execution and lyrical content. Any criticism that I make towards the band should be all taken into account with the fact their songs are some of the best written in the world .. Read the complete review

You may not have heard of Essex trio InMe (Dave McPherson – Vocals and guitar, Joe Morgan – Bass and backing vocals, Simon Taylor – Drums), but their first two singles have gained some popularity on MTV2 and Kerrang!TV while their boy band good looks (in an alternative Lost Prophets kind of way) have helped secure a small legion of fans. Consequently, the release of their debut album, Overgrown Eden on Music For Nations was deliberately delayed to increase anticipation (27th January 2003). This seems a somewhat cynical marketing ploy, but opening with their two hit singles, the Papa Roach-lite ‘Underdose’ and the slightly mellower grungey ... Read the complete review

These guys are simply AMAZING. I think I own every song they have ever made - and then some! Watched all the interviews they have done. Such a great bunch of lads. Friendly, funny, talented! They ROCK live. Their sound is so unique. If you have never been to a concert, and you like them, go! You will not be disappointed at all, they make such a huge effort and they sound amazing. The atmosphere at their gigs is unbelievable. They often play covers from other popular songs too, as well as acoustic versions of their own songs, it's great. All that being said, I have to admit, I do prefer their old stuff. Don't get me wrong, their newest ... Read the complete review

British band Inme are said to be ?youths with no hope? and ?just another boy band with guitars? but I like to think otherwise. If they are supposed little boys, then why do all the songs written by front man Dave McPherson, which are full of pain, anguish and sorrow, are some of the greatest songs ever? I have a collection of bands I like to listen to clear away all the stress, and one of them is Inme. The wails and growls from such a modest, humble man are enough to leave you screaming for more, but when you ask where it all comes from, all he will do is shrug, and play some more. For a voice that has had no proper training, it has range spanning from shrill, ... Read the complete review

This is the first release of Essex then-three piece band InMe. It is a grungy, anxious, adolescent story of break-ups and self-doubt. Having been an InMe fan for years and listening to the albums which succeeded Overgrown Eden, there is definitely a difference in Dave McPherson's vocal approach. On this particular album, he is a little more guttural, a little more unsubtle if you will, in his approach to the words he uses. For a fan of music like Nirvana (which may have touched a nerve with some readers, for which I apologise), this album may be just what you are looking for. However, I personally think that InMe have grown with age. White Butterfly was a classic, . Read the complete review
