In 2002 Snoop Dogg's music underwent a dramatic shift as the year saw him move on after years working on Master P's No Limit Records, so that the West Coast Rap artist could finally get back on track and do something much more like himself and away from the restrictive attempts at trying out the Louisiana style of his southern work with them. The album prior to this acted as a transitional phase as it displayed him moving on a little with the music he came up with, and this was where he could show just what had built up other the years with "Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Bo$$ (his sixth album). 1. "Don Dogg" (Intro) 2. "Da Boss Would ... Read the complete review

YOU'LL ALSO FIND THIS IN THE 'SNOOP DOGG ALBUMS IN GENERAL' SECTION - FOR SOME REASON THE ORIGINAL HASN'T BEEN MOVED TO ITS PROPER PLACE, SO HERE IT IS AGAIN IN THE RIGHT SPOT Snoop Dogg in letting his feelings run and actually declaring his affections for the fairer sex shocker? Now that can’t be right, but it’s all true. For all his pimp manoeuvres, bitch-slapping and putting his foot in the crack of they ass, Tha Boss shows a rarely shown side of humility to prove he’s a gangsta with a heart. It is good to see a rapper constantly changing his music and staying fresh. Everybody who knows anything about rap music will tell you that snoops first album, doggystyle is the stuff of legends and he has not come close to it since. But the fact that he has not tried to go back to those memorable gangster rap days is good, he knows he will not be able to top that so he has taken a different more fucky approach in recent years. Tha last meal was my 2nd favourite ever snoop album and thankfully snoop has stuck to this new formula of original and quite out there rap tunes nowadays. This album takes a few listens but it is extremely good. My favourite ... Read the complete review

WELCOME BACK SNOOP D O DOUBLE G, finally after pathetic attempts at albums, namely everything he has released since the groundbreaking DOGGSTYLE, the playa, the pimp the boss is back on top of the rap world. Snoops newest album, "Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Boss" is reminiscent of the form that landed him the the 1st ever #1 spot on americas billboard 100 for a debut rap album (doggystyle), in other words its awesome!!!!! The album starts of with Don Doggy, a pimpin take off of a godfather scenario, which places snoop as the godfather acceptin calls from people needing his help, showin how influential he really is, Don Doggy is followed by The Boss ...
