Advantages: Totally special Voice, So relaxing It could send you to sleep
Disadvantages: None
I've never really been into new age music, but Enya is just an incredibly special artist. This album, a collection of her best material, is one of the best album's i've ever listened to. Orinoco Flow- Sung in a way that you could imagine Enya floating down the Orinoco river. The song is very well known as it was one of the bigger hits. Carribean Blue - Beautiful and quiet. It really has an underwater effect to it. Enya's vocals sound like the noises you approach when deep in the ocean. Book Of Days - Another one of the big hits. Slightly faster but just as relaxing. The part where it quitens is just amazing! Anywhere Is - Sounds a bit commercialised. The verses could be those of a pop song, but the chorus and lyrics prove this isn't an average boring ballad. Only If - Reminds me of Anywhere Is. I always get them mixed up. Cacthy chorus complete with those haunting chants to back up the brilliant song. The Celts- You can picture armies marching to the beats of this track. Enya's lyrics are also impressive. China Roses- A delicate song which is nice and quiet. Watch out though!you'll be off asleep in no time! Shepherd Moons- Beautiful classical singing with the piano stringing ever so lovely. Ebudae- A lively track sung entirely in Irish Gaelic. Short but very sweet. Storms In Africa- Takes a long time to start up but once it's in full swing, it's a masterpiece. Watermark- Another slow and quiet piano based track which sounds like Shepherd Moons. Much more pleasant though. Paint The Sky With Stars- Enya sings without any humming or chanting here. Not the best on the album. Marble Halls- So lovely, I could cry everytime I hear it! A traditional hymn sung much better than any old person, and it has a stunning rhythm. On My Way Home- Introduced by church or
gans, then evolves into a typical relaxing Enya song. The Memory Of Trees- Starts slow and quiet, then builds up into a big new age anthem with all the usual soothing lyrics that Enya provides! Boadicea- Made famous by the Fugees when they borrowed it. Good tune, but could of done with something else to make the track a bit better. Well, i'm more impressed with this than I am with my favourite artist Michael Jackson's albums!
