Advantages: Always the band are full of energy and excitement.

Disadvantages: Those not too fond of Pop Punk music will hate this.

Sugarcult have been together now since 1998. They released their 'Palm Trees and Power Lines' album in early 2004, their fourth of five albums to date. Their first album was released the year after they formed in 1999 and since then they have been quite constant in releasing albums. Five albums in ten years isn't bad going at all, and with 'Palm Trees and Power Lines' the band continued in their tradition of releasing excellent material.

Never yet have Sugarcult released a bad album, each of their five studio albums are greatly exciting and full of upbeat and fun Pop Punk material. Whilst this is not my favourite that the band have released, it is certainly one that I enjoy. Tracks such as 'She's the Blade', 'Crying' and 'Champagne' are greatly impressive and prove just how brilliant a band Sugarcult can be. Their albums are always packed full of tunes that are excellent to sing along to, this one being no exception to the rule.

If I were to name a favourite from this release then I feel that it would be none other than 'Memory'. There is something greatly effective about this one, the band belt it out and it has the most amazing of choruses. I fail to find fault with the track at all and each and every time I listen to it in fact I smile strongly. I'm always a huge fan of music of this sort, it's great to sing and dance along to and always it impresses. A couple of years back I saw the band live and it was here that their music truly came alive to me. Before witnessing the band in concert I had not been such a great fan of their music, but as soon as I'd seen them live I couldn't seem to stop listening to them. 'Memory' sums up perfectly their bouncy Pop Punk sound on the whole, it is one of my favourites that the band have ever recorded and is one that I have listened to many a time since buying the album back in 2004.

If you're a fan of Pop Punk then I suggest strongly that you give this album a listen. You'll surely be impressed with what you hear from Sugarcult in this album and I fail to see how they could possibly not please you. The music is greatly fun and each and every track here is blessed with a brilliant chorus and fantastic verse progression. The music comes together perfectly at all times and 'Palm Trees and Power Lines' therefore makes for a listening experience nothing short of enthralling. It's no way my favourite album that the band have recorded, but then again there is some extremely strong competition and this album is still full of superb material that is well worthy of your full, undivided attention. Give this album a listen if you can, even if it means searching out one of the tracks I have named on somewhere like 'Youtube' beforehand to have you convinced, I swear that this album is excellent and you wont be disappointed with what the band have to offer.
