The most recent studio album released under Norman Cook's Fatboy Slim moniker, was a shift in style compared to his earlier albums. Instead of his previous dependence on vocal loops Cook decided to take things back to basics (sort of) and use live instruments and vocals as well as more traditional song structures. However, compared to those earlier albums, the critical consensus was pretty bleak, with review ranging from the okay to the bad. When I first listened to this album, about a year after it's initial release, I had a similar opinion, I thought the album was distinctly okay. Nothing special.
