Advantages: Very mellow.

Disadvantages: Very short.

I have to admit to being somewhat underwhelmed by Yellow the first few times I heard it. It was only when my girlfriend bought the album and played it in the car that I realised it wasn't some whiny tat, but actually quite a genuine song. I generally only like "slow" songs on an album if they are backed up by some more upbeat ones, but I am now hooked on Parachutes and take it with on all my train journeys as a de-stresser. I especially like the fact that a lot of effort has obviously gone into the composition of the "background" music, which seems to be given as much precedence as the lyrics themselves.
