Advantages: Loads of cracking songs

Disadvantages: One of the songs (Parachutes) is less than a minute long

Parachutes is the first album released by the group Coldplay, one of the most successful bands in the world today. The album was a massive success worldwide, and some of it's songs are still played on the radio regularly today, even though the album came out in 2000.

This album sounds very different to Coldplay's latest albums, I would say it is more raw, you can certainly hear their future potential in alot of the songs. Well knows hits from this album include Shiver, Yellow, Trouble and Don't Panic. Yellow is the song that got Coldplay recognised by most fans and propelled them into the spotlight.

Other songs on this album are well worth a listen too. Spies is a very spooky sounding track, High Speed was apparently inspired by a washing machine and Everything's Not Lost is a great sing-a-long track at some of Coldplay's previous concerts.

The song Sparks is quite well known too because it appears in the Blockbuster movie, Wedding Crashers. Apparently, Coldplay are re-rehearsing this song for the possibility of it being played in future concerts.

If you like Coldplay at all, this album is a must!
