Advantages: Amazing singles & just as good B-Sides

Disadvantages: Slightly disjointed in places

Essential for the completists - like Volume 1, contains all the tracks that didn't make it onto the official UK Album releases.

Picking up in 1965, includes well known mid-period singles such as 'Day Tripper', 'We Can Work It Out' & the fabulous 'I Feel Fine'. From there it gets edgier with probably their first really experimental offering - 'Paperback Writer', & it's wonderful B-Side 'Rain' - these 2 tracks are the pre-cursor to 'Revolver' & the Beatles' studio period.

Other Lennon/McCartney standards such as Hey Jude, Get Back & The Ballad of John & Yoko are included, while it is difficult to comprehend that tracks as well known as 'Don't Let Me Down' & 'Revolution' were merely B-Sides.

Like Volume 1, there are a couple of alternate versions also included - the Single verson of 'Let It Be' & an slightly different 'Across the Universe' featuring farm yard animals sound effects!

Summary: Essential accompaniment to the studio Beatles albums
