Advantages: This truly depends on your tastes, better value than buying singles

Disadvantages: just another knock out comp with too many poor tracks on

One thing that I could never understand about the release of this is how can they call it a 2002 compilation. When you consider that this was on sale on the 8th of October which is nearly three months beforehand it strikes me a bit weird. Considering again that not many of these songs were even still in the charts when it came to 2002 makes the choice of name even worse.

On the bonus side though I think that this has a lot better tracks on it than their main rival Now 50 and is probably the best choice to get if you are still looking for a compilation to buy. Seeing how I already have Now 50 though as well as now Dance 2002(another aptly named compilation) I already have most of these tracks on the others. The only difference being that in the Now dance 2002 album they have tried to include all remixes of the songs so they may not even sound as good as the tracks that you wanted.

With this double album though they have not done that and have tried to stay with a compilation of the radio and chart editions that you would have heard and liked. A bit of a bonus with songs like Toploaders Dancing in the Moonlight that I mainly remember from the Jamie Oliver adverts rather than their chart success. This album was totally up to date with all the latest tracks at it?s time of release as well and actually encapsulated a lot of tracks that were just becoming hits.

On the downside for me though it contains both of DJ Otzi?s efforts which to be frank I hate. 21 seconds is another that I do not think of too well either. If you tried to dance as fast as they sing it you would probably set your soles on fire. A good thing that we have that skip function then. But this cd does have a good mix of varying genres but it mainly follows the pop and chart theme. This will make it more easy to listen to as it contains more of the tracks that you hear on the radio so you are already familiar with most.

Just how many times though will we again be treated
to N-Trances Set You Free. With kylies latest hit being the Number 1 track on both this and Now 50 then I guess that the producers must have loved this one. Yes it is one of Kylies better tracks but do you not think that it is getting a bit played to death. One thing did anyone at all like that remake of A little Respect. I nearly forgot about that one there which only goes to show just how uninteresting and terrible I thought it was.

The only real reason that we even saw this set of compilation albums thrust upon us was due to The Pepsi Chart being flogged off to us by Channel 5. The biggest reason that this had any success at all was mainly due to teenagers especially the young women who seem to follow the charts fervently along with the fact they always seem to have on MTV on BskyB. Just another money making opportunity.

When you consider that this is no longer even in the top 75 shows that it has been nothing but a breeze where the album charts are concerned themselves. Come on Dr Fox you will have to do better than this if you want to make any real impression upon us. With quite a few compilation albums being released within only weeks of each other also makes me feel like this is no more than a bit of marketing strategy so they can tussle it out and sit back to look over the sales figures. Still I suppose that when you consider just how many tracks that you get for your money we are not that hard done by.

The only problem comes in when considering which to buy as they all contain just about the same tracks and that will come down to personal preferences. But like I mentioned this album does follow the chart theme more than some others and if you like chart music then this could be a better choice for you. If you do not though then there probably will not be a lot here to truly interest you.

Unfortunatley for me I once again had to purchase this as an extra gift for my paertners birthday. Maybe it was what she wanted but I
would have much preferred to put the £14.99 that it cost me to a lot better use, but it did keep her happy for all of about a week that she played it before it sat there starting to gather dust.

Looking at the track listing I couldn't see why anyone would buy it - you might as well just turn the radio on!

Not 100% my thing, but it sounds like something the kids we look after might like, so will have to look in to getting an office copy (which I can then copy....)
