Pig Destroyer's 4th album "Phantom Limb" was released in the summer of 2007. Grindcore is a genre which appeals to very few people and even fans of Grindcore or Extreme Metal in general tend to be rather picky when it comes to which bands they like, too many bands fail to make an impression upon the listeners with a distinct lack of original sound being the main problem. Pig Destroyer break the boundaries of grindcore to come up with a sound reminiscent of the gods of grindcore - Naplam Death and Nasum from the late 80s, however better produced and with a focus on death metal on a few of the longer tracks.
