18 - Moby

Rating:
A little bit about the composer. His parents nicknamed him "Moby" soon after birth, because his great-great-great-great uncle was Herman Melville the author of the famous American novel Moby Dick. Personally this is one of my favorite moby albums I didn t really appreciate his Hotel album and am yet to listen to his most recent after being so disappointed by Hotel. This album is something like the ultimate sound track for life depending on your mood from the very up beat we are all made of stars and jam for the ladies to the very slow and sympathetic attitude of harbour and Sunday the day before my birthday featuring guest vocals from such musicians as sinead ...

Animal Rights - Moby

Is Wrong , or his cover of Joy Divisions New Dawn Fades on the Feeling So Real single. In Animal Rights , though, Moby set out to defy those who pigeonholed him into the dance genre by writing a rock album, devoid of synthesisers and other electronic instruments, focusing instead on guitars, drums and, less often, strings. To his critics, it was astonishing bolt from the blue. To the general public - like most of his early work - it went largely unheard. Of its two singles Come On Baby is most representative of the whole album. The echoing vocals are loud, often shouted (by Moby s own admission he screams better than he sings) and the guitars wail in perfect ...

Animal Rights - Moby
by dplevey - written on 31/07/02 (Useful, 43 readings)
Rating:
By 1996 Moby had become disenchanted with the current dance scene and returned to his 1980's punk rock influences, the resulting release was the extremely aggresive 'Animal Rights' Don't be fooled by the mellow opening track, the 2nd track 'Come on Baby' injected lots of heavy guitar work into the dance ...
