The Beatles. What can I say? If you haven't exposed yourself to their music in all it's forms then you are missing out. Big Time.

Please Please me isn't a *great* album, but it is a really good album. It's worth the price of the Cd for the Lennon/McCartney tracks alone.

When you consider that these were fledgling songwriters at the time, it is strange to notice that most of the stand-out tracks were written by them: "I saw her standing there", "Please, please me", "Love me do" and my personal favourite from the album "Do you want to know a secret". Remember that at the time, few artists actually wrote their own songs, and yet here are two young men who not only manage to get a record deal, *and* can write songs, but they manage to get 8 tracks of the 14 on this album written by themselves. That alone is quite an achivement.

Do your ears a favour and buy a piece of history. If an album that is 40 years old is still finding new audiences you know that it has to be worth listening to.
