Advantages: The harmonica in Love Me Do (forever classic!)
Disadvantages: Some below par songs
Please, Please Me is the first album by The Beatles and it was the start of the biggest thing to hit music. This first album really shows, it is more raw than the albums that followed but even then it still shows some class for a debut album. It's hard to beleive that 'I Saw Her Standing There' could have come from them so early. Some of the songs do have a very different beat to them, certainly The Beatles matured quickly after this. Songs like Misery, Anna (Go To Him), Boys and A Taste of Honey are weaker songs by Beatles standards. But Chains and Twist and Shout are worth listening to and then you have the classics Please, Please Me and Love Me Do which do not need any introduction. Do You Want To Know A Secret was coverd by Billy J Krammer who took it to No. 2 in the charts. This album was the start of something massive and despite some raw parts it really showed.
