Blackout - Britney Spears:
... worng reasons for too long and this album could be the start of a new beginning for her. She has some of her pop-style hits on this cd but she has also including songs like "piece of me" which is representing her life at the moment and adding a new r'n'b flavour to her album. There are also a few bad choices such as Gimmie More which has a horrible video and makes you never believe that once Britney was ... Pictures - Katie Melua ... the soft jazzy tones throughout. This songs concentrates more on Katie's voice than the singing, with the quiet background sounds of violins, apart from in the middle where there is about 30 seconds of just the instruments having a solo. 7.Scary Films I think this is one of my favourite tracks, theres a good beat to it and although it is still slow, it is faster than the other songs. Katie manages to sing about a wife murdering a husband with a knife and about horror films - but somehow unless you really listen it doesn't seem like she's singing about this. I enjoyed this song, but if you are a Katie Melua fan, you probably won't enjoy this and will just move onto the ... Read the full review: Katie Melua - Pictures by lilyellowfish1 |

One Day Remains - Alter Bridge ... for anyone listening to the band for perhaps the first time. Marks out of 10: 9.5 - One word; Amazing. Track 6: Broken Wings (5.07 minutes) 'Broken Wings' goes back to a similar formula that 'Burn It Down' had; a slower ballad that does grow into an epic rock song. Another fantastic guitar riff starts this one off and really sets the mood effectively. Marks out of 10: 9 - Perhaps put on a little too soon after 'Burn It Down' but brilliant in it's own right. Track 7: In Loving Memory (5.40 minutes) As you can probably guess from the tracks title, this is the bands dedication to a friend who died. Although it may seem pretty generic, I actually like it; it's a... Read the full review: If One Day Did Remain... by MizzMolko |

Buddy Holly ... a private jet alongside The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens during a solo tour without his Crickets. Unfortunately, it was on 2nd February 1959 that the same plane crashed down near a lake leaving all three dead. Thanks to Madonna, I realise most people these days are pretty familiar with "American Pie" which was originally sung by Don McLean. He wrote in tribute to this terrible accident. Buddy's widow was pregnant at the time of his death but the stress caused her to miscarry a few weeks later which was of course desperately sad. The music lived on for a few years after Buddy's demise though thanks to a load of previously unreleased material. Despite hi... Read the full review: The Music Lives On by DavyMichelle |
