Advantages: A good starting point for listening to Marilyn Manson

Disadvantages: A bit rough aroung the edges

This is the earilest piece of Manson music I own. You can definatly heard that its still very rough and ready around the edges and If you see any of the videos of the songs from the album you can DEFINATLY see how different the band were back then to how they are now. Most of the stuff has a raw coarseness to it and you can hear why Mr Reznor produced it, Its got the sparks of something starting to click witht the music. To me the only songs which instantly leap out at you are 'dope hat' , 'Get your Gunn' and , to a certian extent 'Lunchbox'. Repeated listening some others start getting okay, but its those three song that 'make' the album. Not the best stuff Manson has produced but its getting there.
It does sound a lot like some of the early NIN stuff, Mr. Reznors influence in there again I assume.
