This Fire - Paula Cole

Premium Review Utterly Brilliant (232 words)
by snorlaxjen - written on 29/11/00 (Very useful, 98 readings)
Rating:

not like anything I had heard before. She may be compared to the likes of Alanis Morrisette, and grouped in the same catergory as Sarah McLaughlin, who are both great, Paula Cole creates masterpieces with her vocals and her lyrics. After buying this album, I was drawn to buying her first album, "Harbinger", and that is also good. To listen to this, you should have an open mind to music, it is not new-age, not pop not really anything that I can catergorise really. The odd swearing can be heard through some songs, but it is much more calmer than most rappers that are in today's charts. This Fire is an album that will open your mind and broaden your ...

Premium Review Emotional and inspired (140 words)
by Alternum - written on 01/08/00 (Useful, 126 readings)
Rating:

Bought by many, including myself, on the strength of her hit song 'Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?', this album deserves much more than that. It is a rolling tide of emotion all the way through, each song with its own character. We get anger, disillusionment, reflection, thoughtfulness, hope, all wrapped up in a selection of songs that ...

Amen - Paula Cole

Premium Review Paula Cole' Amen (350 words)
by fanhigh - written on 20/05/03 (Useful, 59 readings)
Rating:

her other two albums. I certainly hope that she hasn't given up with the rebelliousness and hopefully her albums to come will be more like the ones before "Amen". Overall, I thought it was a good album and I do recommend it. However, if you have never heard Paula Cole before, I would recommend buying her first two albums first, so you will be able to hear music that you wouldn't hear on any other album. ...

'The Adventure' is a pretty decent track. The rest of the album is incredibly dull.
