Massive attack brought Trip Hop to the masses with this 1994 classic. Del Naja, 3D and Mushroom come up trumps with this relaxed vibe dancehall classic.

Each tune is delivered with emotion of genuine care for the production of this album. This may have been inspired the legend of Nellee Hooper behind the mixing desk and engineering such classics as Protection, Three and Karmacoma.

Invitations to join in with Massive Attacks albums are reserved for their favourites and they return again on Protection with Tracy Thorn taking lead vocals on the Impressive title track and also on Better Things. Her experience shows and delivers a fine performance on both complementing the beats yet not overpowering them.

Horace Andy the legend of Reggae delights with the soulful Spying Glass and the ever so slightly dissapointing Light my Fire (live). Being a big Doors fan its always going to be impossible to top that.

This album is perfect for many situations from geting up in the morning (Better Things) to going to bed (Karmacoma).
