Advantages: Great rock

Disadvantages: -none-

Aerosmith are one of the greatest rock bands ever. Rocking for 30 years at the moment, and about 19 by the time they released "Pump" they really have done it all.

Aerosmith are a rock/bluesy band, with a great, upbeat (generally) sound. They are:

Steven Tyler - Vocals
Joe Perry - Guitar
Tom Hamilton - Bass
Brad Whitford - Guitar
Joey Kramer - Drums

For more information on Aerosmith read my opinion titled "Aerosmith - Forever (or it seems like it)" In the "Aerosmith in General" category.

Pump is highly acclaimed as one of their best records, and includes many memorable songs. The main feeling to the album is foot stompin' rock, upbeat, happy, occasional ol' west influences, and a great ballad thrown in for competeness.

--------------------
1. Young Lust
Kicks off the album with a bang. This is a fast and upbeat track - Which suits its subject of young lust.
----------
2. F.I.N.E
Standing for F***ed up, Insecure, Neurotic and Emotional - This is another upbeat track, great feeling.
----------
3.1 Going Down
A little introduction to the song "Love in an Elevator"
----------
3.2 Love in An Elevator
A popular song, a great little humming intro, a great chorus, one you can really sing to. Nice little guitar riffs, cool drumming
----------
4. Monkey On My Back
Starting off with slow and drawn out vocals this track pounds in with an 80s style drum sound (which stops soon after). This is another classic rock track, in that great Aerosmith style.
----------
5.1 Water Song
A little introduction to the next track, just noise.
----------
5.2 Janie's Got A Gun
A famous track, weird intro noise, but a great song. It really feels emotional - Fairly slow - Great vocals
----------
6.1 Dulcimer Stomp
A great little guitar piece - Reminds me of the "old west" stylings.
Very good, but short.
----------
6.2 The Other Side
With horns in the background - This track feels full (a good thing), nice backing vocals.
----------
7. My Girl
Kicking off with a nice little guitar riff, this is yet another track of a high quality.
----------
8. Don't Get Mad, Get Even
Starting very slowly with a simple drum beat with simple vocals, then kicking into a full guitar piece.
----------
9.1 HooDoo
Talking over weird noises, chants and drum beats, reminiscent of North American Indians
----------
9.2 Voodoo Medicine Man
Starting with a scratching (NOT turntables) noise, a bass-line and vocals, quick slams of guitar kick into a jammin' track.
----------
10. What it Takes
A beautiful, ballad-type song. Fantastic end to a great album - Finishing with another piece which reminds you of the ol'west (yeehaw).
--------------------

If you are an Aerosmith fan and don't have this then WHY NOT? This is vaugly similar in style to Aerosmiths "Get a Grip" or "Permenant Vacation" - If you like them then you'll love this. If you aren't an Aerosmith fan, but have heard their recent singles, or liked "Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and want a lively album from the masters of rock, then this is almost certainly the album for you. It is easily listenable, I liked it from the moment I got it.
