Neon Genesis Evangelion 2 - Soundtrack
by berlioz II - written on 05/12/05 (Very useful, 815 readings)
Rating:
album (apart from the inclusion of the next episode preview track ”Jikai” in the middle, that is) are five different versions of the Sinatra song as heard in the many Various arrangements during the end credits. The first is the standard Claire performed version heard on the first volume, only cut down to the length of the TV version. The two following versions originate from episodes 5 and 6 respectively and are performed by Megumi Ogata, the voice actor for Rei. The two remaning versions are more strange, the first being described as an ”aki bossa techno” version and the other an ”aki jungle” version. Depending on how much you can tolerate this song and its different ...

I doubt there is any other anime in the world that has caused as much controversy as Neon Genesis Evangelion has since its premiere in 1996. The questions evoked by the series’ creator and director Hideaki Anno still causes much debate, confusion and bitter fighting among anime fans as to whether Evangelion is the best anime ever created or nothing else but an overtly confusing, derivative and unbelievably overrated piece of mindf***ing released on the public. During its ten year existence, people dedicated to understanding every corner of the show are still as much confused and lost as to what ultimately is Evangelion; the personal thoughts of a sick, twisted and troubled individual, a ...

I like my anime. And this is one of the biggest anime series out there. However much it has going for itself, it annoys me to no end. Its the usual story of a post apocalyptic Japan, where there are monsters (Angels in this case) attacking and its up to the mechs (giant robots) to stop them. As in usual Japanese animes the main characters pilots of the mechs are teenagers. However this is where the similarities end. Most animies are rather uplifting and simple. Bad guys, good guys and a love triangle to boot. This does have all of those, but its so much darker. There are constant references to religion, and the Bible. The character also consist of the most unlikable ...
