... their own sound right? The technicality with which they play is unbelievable. If you want an album that will impress you to the bones with high speed blasting, tremolo guitars and evil growls, this is the album for you. Having being slated for being try-hards in the metal scene, this is either the type of band you love or hate. While the songs tend to drift into one another without much clarity, a few moments of the album stick out as pure genious, such as the gravity blast from the drummer (Max) in Rebirth, and...more

Having toured with this band, I can safely say that they are NOT weak in concert. Personally not a major fan of this Deathmetal Grindcore genre, I was interested to listen to their set, which included many of the tracks from this album. Admittedly the tremolo guitars did get a bit repetitive, but every artist needs their own sound right? The technicality with which they play is unbelievable. If you want an album that will impress you to the bones with high speed blasting, tremolo guitars and evil growls, this is the album for you. Over the last two years Trigger the Bloodshed have become the most well known new English death metal outfit to have made a release, the new kids on the block so to speak - so I was a bit surprised to find a review of the band's album on a metalhead forum, being described as "wannabes" and had to check it out for myself. Purgation, the band's debut album was released om August, just 2 months after the band signed to Metal Blade Records. The Bristol based bland release an anger filled, growling, blast beat filled album with even a tracklist to make small children cry and adults wince. The band makes up for their rather innocent looking album cover ...  Read the complete review

Nice grimey sound to it Overboard on the falsetto for me

Excellent throughout None

Great pagan atmosphere. Poor production spoils effect of instruments.

Creative and distinctive fusion of metal and symphony. Acted interludes are unnecessary and distracting.

Some awesome sounds and an eerie sound Some quite similar tracks

An excellent rock album, fantastic from start to finish. Some may be put off by the musical change in direction that Avenged Sevenfold took here.

The Symmetry Of I The Circle Of O - And Oceans
Upbeat, atmospheric and surprisingly accessible black metal. Second disc may disappoint, and the whole thing isn't quite as experimental as you may expect.

The Scarecrow - Tobias Sammet's Avantasia
Another fantastic metal opera by Tobias Sammett lots of guest vocals None for me

The Machinery Of Oblivion - Arcane Order
Aggressive death metal without sounding forced. Clearly derivative of Gothenburg bands.

Silent Waters - Amorphis
Some good melodical riffs Too wet

Lost In Space: Vol. 2 - Tobias Sammet's Avantasia
Good vocals. More of the same, and the same wasn't that good.

Morphogenesis - And Oceans
If you don't own the studio albums, this is some great symphonic black metal. Basically inferior versions of album material, sold for a quick buck.

Cypher - And Oceans
More coherent than 'A.M.G.O.D.' Abandons black metal for weak industrial.

Chained - At Vance
Great guitar showmanship from Olaf Lenk. A very dated sound, and exactly the same as the band's previous albums.

A.m. G.o.d.: Allotropic/Metamorphic Genesis Of Dismorphism - And Oceans
A band moving forward. It looks like the wrong way.

Battle At Helms Deep - Attacker
Early U.S. power metal, from metal's golden age. Vocals may irritate, and it's all more than a little daft.
