 ... regularly use on stage. There are a couple of surprises on the album, two very acousticy tracks, 'The Aviator' and 'Touch Away' which is probably the best track on the album. Neither of them sound typically purple and this is great, they are still branching out and trying new things to good effect as we witness here. I'm going to be controversial (if you're a purple fan) and say that this is my favourite Deep Purple album and hence in my opinion the best. The lineup is the best it's going to get nowadays as Gillan and Blackmore will not realistically work together now. Morse does an incredible job on guitar, not a replacement but an alternative. Ace. This album is started off with 'Ted the Mechanic' a funky almost punk origin track with Purple's own influence clear to see, or hear.
