Queen II was Queen's first UK Top 5 album. The album can be seen in two ways. 1) Most Queen fans love this album. It is queen at there most creative and I do agree with this or 2) The album is ok but not the best they have created and I agree with that to. Premium Review Queen II - Queen: Queens of rock and roll (773 words)
by - written on 29/04/01 (Very useful, 43 readings)
Rating:

This second offering from the Queen stable shows a band far more mature than most are by the time they reach their second album. The first ten tracks are not well known Queen songs and the last one is 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' which many people will know from Greatest Hits (or Flix) 1. This song is in fact an expanded version of a song released on their first album Queen. Still heavily based around their live acts Queen here produced an album that has a lot of tracks with all the elements of live performances. Each track has something about it that ingrains itself into your memory and makes you want to prance around like Freddy making love to his microphone ...  Read the complete review

After their first album that had taken so long to get into the shops flopped some people were beginning to doubt Queens credentials. However back the bounced with an album full to the brim with outstanding songs. The majority of the songs had been developed in the lengthy delay between completing their self titled debut and its actual release and had been honed during live performances so when they actually came to record them they had developed them to within an inch of perfection and it showed! The album opens with the grand majestic march of 'Procession' its assured tone telling the listener right from the off that Queen are going to deliver an album ...  Read the complete review

Queen II is the second album by the band Queen. It was released in March 1974. The two sides of the original LP were labelled "Side White" and "Side Black" this was a change to the normal A & B. The over of the Album is the original shot of the legendary Queen 4. This is used through out the years of queen most notably in the music video for the song "Bohemian Rhapsody". But is also used in other videos, One Vision is another. The album took only one month to record. Queen II was Queen's first UK Top 5 album. Premium Review Queen Rock in their second release! (234 words)
by - written on 11/06/06 (Somewhat useful, 54 readings)
Rating:

This album, in my view, is by far the best album Queen have done, once again only one hit from Greatest Hits. However do not let this put you off. This album oozes class in every area, it is Queen at there very best, a heavy rock album. Queen have produced over 20 albums, and through time have adapted their style of music, from heavy rock in the 70's, to disco in the 80's, such as in Hot Space, and finally into pop in the late 80's. The album starts off with "Procession," an introduction track to "Father To Son." One noticeable feature with Queen's earlier albums is that the songs blend into each other. If you like rock or think ...  Read the complete review

vocals, lyrics, production aids

Great songs, Great production fairground organ intro isn't fab

Contains the same strengths as the previous album and stays true to Delta's style Not all of the tracks are great and some sound like rip-offs of the better tracks

Lots of genres, mish mash of electronic and acoustic, very different. Can get repetitive in some areas.

Some brilliant stuff here, particularly '39 The lesser stuff ain't too good

Some Good Tracks Some Over the Top Arty Ones Too

The Damned Ship ?????? - Arthemis
Fun, fast power metal. Essentially a Helloween rip-off with Timo Tolkki guitars.

Kremasta Nera - Ataraxia
Distinctive sound, mixing classical and folk influences with a modern touch. Songs can be grouped into several styles, without much variation within.

Charm - Danny!
Hip-Hop & Rap - 2006

Battleheart - Battleheart
Strong and impressively varied debut from the Scottish pirates. More clichéd than later releases, and some weaker songs.

El Angel Caido - Avalanch
The peak of Avalanch's melodic/prog/power style, with interesting experiments. Some songs still seem like filler, especially by comparison to the strong closing material.

Negation - Decapitated
Technical, Atmospheric, full of catchy riffs, brilliantly executed None

Reflections Of The... - Goatlord
Dingy atmosphere. So boring.

Cirith Gorgor - Cirith Gorgor

Christian Kane - Acoustic Live in London
Gorgeous voice and a different sound. Great lyrics and history to the tracks Doesnt include some great tracks like the LA song or Dont come home

Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!) - The Beach Boys
Some excellent, classic tracks. Great vocals. Mono only is a disadvantage for some, A bit of a slow starter.
